Alan Shearer would appear to have taken on an impossible task with Newcastle doing every thing that they can to get themselves relegated.The team full of talent just does not want to galvanize its self into a force to allow it to remain in the top flight. Shearer along with his management team just do not seem to be able to get the message across, Owen, Martins and Vidulka can not find the target and the defence can not keep the opposition from scoring.
Perhaps the fate of Newcastle has been decided before Shearer took the job, one can not rule out the role that Denis Wise played in their dire position in which they now languish, he was totally out of his depth. His abrasive manner causing previous mangers more problems than the team its self, what a difference an extra month would have made. Without the pressure of impending relegation the team would have had time to take advantage of Shearer experience and passion, this would have allowed them to jell into a fighting force with confidence to fight for survival, hindsight is a great thing
